Ipswich for a People’s Vote is a new pro-EU grassroots groups that SEUA helped to found. They are holding their next meeting at the Lord Nelson pub. If you live in, or close to Ipswich and would like to join them, they’d love to see you there. This date falls a week after the UK was set to leave the EU – how long beyond it we’ll be in is anyone’s guess at this stage. We are now into the campaign season for our third general election in four years. So IPV are are planning a pro-EU grassroots campaign that includes street stalls, leafleting parts of Ipswich and other events, and they would love you to share your own ideas.
Best parking options are either at the Fore St Swimming Pool car park (access from Star Lane to the north but note the one-way system) which is free after 8pm and has a passageway into the pub to the left of the swimming pool. Or, if that is full, carry on around the one way system (staying in the right hand lane). Just after passing the front of the Lord Nelson on your right the road bends left. Indicate right as you pass the pub (as if you are turning up Fore St) but carry on another 20m and turn right into the entrance to Hyper Cars /Total Car Parks where there are usually lots of spaces, although the pay and display costs are higher. The access drive is next to the name Salthouse Street on the Google map below.
For those coming by bike there are cycle stands at the back of the swimming pool, next to the pay and display machines.
