Dear Supporters and Members,
Happy New Year! We’re hitting the ground running and need your help on street stalls across Suffolk.
Theresa May delayed the ‘meaningful vote‘ in a shameless attempt to run down the clock, hoping to scare MPs into voting for her deal, rather than allow the UK to accidentally crash out of the EU by default. But there is an alternative – a People’s Vote – and as the Government’s options run out, the chance of a second referendum increases.
On Saturday 12 January, the weekend before debate begins in Parliament and the vote finally takes place, there will be a National Day of Action with hundreds of street stalls, Brexitometers, leafleting and other activities all around the country. There will be eight in Suffolk alone! The aim is to remind people to keep writing to their MPs asking them to vote down May’s deal and support a People’s Vote.
Here’s how you can help us. Each street stall needs at least ten people (ideally more!) to hand out leaflets, talk to locals and assist with the Brexitometers. If you haven’t done this before, we’ll pair you up with someone more experienced.
All street stalls will run from 10am to 1pm on Saturday January 12th. Please RSVP if you can help, telling us which one you can get to.
