Covered today:

  • The EU Elections
  • Beccles street stall on Saturday 12th
  • EUnity meeting in Ipswich on Saturday 12th
  • Felixstowe street stall on Saturday 27th
  • Next Seckford meeting on April 30th

We’re all feeling huge relief that we’re not leaving the EU at 11pm tonight.  But we mustn’t get complacent.  It’s vital that all Remainers vote in the upcoming EU elections.  The first step is to ensure you are registered to vote.  You can do this online by visiting the official Register to Vote website.  All you need if you are a UK citizen, a non-British EU citizen or Commonwealth citizen resident in the UK is your National Insurance number.  Through our votes, we can send a powerful message both to the Government and the EU that the Remain campaign is a force to be reckoned with.

Beccles April 12
Please join us at our Beccles street stall and Brexitometer tomorrow, Saturday 12th.  We will be sharing our location with the Beccles Twinning Association (twinned with Petit-Couronne, near Rouen) who are running a French-themed stall selling home-made cakes in support of the organisation.  How can you resist? We’ll be outside Lloyds Bank on Exchange Square from 10am-12:30pm.  Details are at our website.

Ipswich April 12
If you can’t get to us in Beccles, then please consider visiting La Tour cafe on Ipswich waterfront from 10-12pm where the EUnity pro-EU group is having its third meeting. We want to encourage local grassroots groups starting up in towns and villages around the county, and we’re pleased our county town now has its own. You can find details of this event on our website.

Felixstowe April 27
We’re back in Felixstowe on Saturday April 27th with a street stall.  We’ll be setting up outside the old sweet shop opposite HSBC.  The town is a strong leave area, and with less than a month to go to the EU elections, it’ll be interesting to get locals to vote on our Brexitometer and see if there’s any shift in public opinion.

Seckford April 30
Due to many of our members having commitments over Easter, we are having an extra week’s break.  As a result our next meeting will be on Tuesday 30th April at Seckford Golf Club.

Best wishes
SEUA Committee
